Three important people

Jose is a medium high guy, has short hair and skinny body. He’s always smiling. And he’s nose is push down because he used to be a boxer. The way he dresses is always so classy, with a collar shirt and nice pants. He’s always so nice to everybody. If he has the opportunity to help you he will. Regardless, of your race, gender, social class etc. He’s just a guy with a nice heart. Not long ago he took a trip to Mexico and took food for the children that have nothing to eat. When I first met him it was a party. After taking some group pictures, he started talking to me like if he already knew me. The first thing that caught my attention was that he doesn’t judge people by the way they look, dress or talk. He first gets to know them. Jose is really important to me because he showed me how to see life different. He thought me how to grow up. He showed me how to value all I have, because there are people that don’t have anything. Jose showed me to think about the poor and those people that don’t have a job. To not be selfish and if i can help someone help them. I learn that life is not always fair but that’s life. And in order to get something you have to work for it.

Cabral was my favorite high school teacher. He’s tall, wears glasses and is skinny. He has freckles in his cheeks and a big bright smile like the people on the Colgate total commercials. He’s smile is one of his nice characteristics. The way he dresses is always casual and in winter he always wears his brown jacket. Cabral is fifty-three years old and still looks in good shape. He’s favorite sport to play is tennis and he likes to watch soccer. The way he teaches the class is just amazing. He makes the class fun and you actually learn. Cabral always interacts with his students. Before he starts to teach his class he sprays himself with his body spray for man. I had him   for my sophomore and junior year. And when I was a senior every time he saw me he would ask me, "did you already apply for a university or register for college?" and I would always answer "naaa i don't wanna go to school anymore I am star working after high I graduate". Then one day he asked me again and then said "don't you want your kids to go to college" and I reply "yeah I want them to be smart" and he said "well you have to go to college first so you can set the example". He change the way I though of school. Cabral is just somebody I will always remember. He’s just the best teacher ever.

I have never been a religious person. I don’t go to church every Sunday. But I’m catholic and in order to do my first communion I had to go to church every Sunday. Therefore, every Sunday I would always go to church with my mom. And every Sunday I would see an old lady always praying. She was short and had gray hair. Every time her gray hair would start showing she will always dye her hair. She always carried a small purse with a rosary inside and sat on the front row in church. That old lady turned out to me my mom’s friend. That lady has so many faith in God. She would always be praying and thanking God for the good and bad situations. The way she never gave up on God was just so incredible. It was because of her that I started believing more in God. She taught me that it doesn’t matter how hard a situation is God will always be there. God knows why things happen the way they do.

VANS
Vans are a famous foot were. They are very comfortable and they match with almost all you were. Vans come in every color like pink, blue, red, black, white, etc. And every design you ever think of like flowers, stars, sharks, skulls and many more. And the most important thing is that there affordable. There are two Vans stores near Oxnard. There is the one in the Pacific View Mall and the one on Camarillo Outlets. Vans seem to be popular among the people. The kids from elementary, Jr. High, and high school were them.  Also parents and people from college use them. Everyone seems to have at least one pair. I prefer to use vans that are one solid color. Because they go along with almost everything you were. But some people prefer to use them with designs to express themselves or the way their feeling. I think Vans are good to were around the house, school or to go out. I don’t recommend them from running or walking. They don't feel comfortable. The prices vary depends on where you get them. You can get them at a cheap price on the Camarillo Outlets. I really recommend people to get Vans. Vans have been around for many years now. They have been around since 1966.

Fast food (opinion)

I think that Fast Food Nation is a pretty informative book. It gives us a lot of good information on how our food is process. Knowing the way food is process has affected me on how I think about a hamburger. The way TV commercials aim at children. I have a little sister and I see that the TV commercial makes her ask for a happy meal at McDonalds because it comes with a toy. I'm going to try to eat less meat, because fast food nation grossed me out on how the meat is processed. And sometimes it has animal shit in it. I would also like to reduce all the fast food I eat. Try to eat healthier, like less animals meat and eat more fruits. Teach my little sister that too much fast food is bad for her. When I finish reading Chapter 9 I stared thinking it was nasty the way the animals are kill. Also the way the hamburgers are process and some of the meat is contaminated. What really surprised me was that the industries is they don't have to let the public know when the meat is contaminated and removed from the stores. The way the workers are treated is just wrong. Fast Food Nation just changed my mind on the way I see meat and fast food.

Truth is I HAVE 2 sisters.

Spring semester

This is my first semester at Oxnard College. So far I like it. I have more free time than I use to have in high school. I'm enrolled in three classes and I try to do my homework on time. I have had some struggles in my English class. I have to learn how to use the "ed" while talking in past tents. In Math class I have to put more hours in the lab, in order to pass the class. I’m working on that. For my Health class everything is going well. I have an A so far. I believe this has been an essay semester because I'm only taking three classes. I don't have too much homework. I just have to worry about my English homework because we have to do a lot of writing assignments. Also there’s a lot of reading and a research paper coming up. Other than that everything is well. My first semester everything is going well. Hopefully my second semester goes as good as this one. But I know at the end all the hard work I have done will pay of my me getting a good paying job. And I won’t have to be working everyday on something I don’t like.

Even though I don’t have a lot of Homework, by this time I’m getting tired of school. I just want the semester to be over. I’m ready to have some long summer vacations. What motivates me to keep going is that I want a better future for myself. I want a good paying job. I don’t want to work for minimum wage. I want to work on something I like. That is the only reason why I keep coming every day. My motivation is having a better life than my parents did.

My two Best Friends

This week I want to talk about my two best friends. Their names are Fanny and Carmen. They both attend to Oxnard College like me. We have been together since junior year in high school. We like to go out to party, eat or just hang out. Most of the time we are at my house. They like my house. Our favorite place to go eat is toppers pizza. And we like to party where there’s banda. We like Spanish music. We listen to banda, corridos and nortenas. Almost every day we are together we meet up at the Oxnard College library to do homework. That’s like around noon and after that we go out to eat. I enjoy spending time with them. I trust them and we always shave fun when we are together.

Changing attitude

I was a regular student in high school. I had an English College Prep class and Spanish AP. I didn’t really like school. I just went to school because I had to. So after graduating High School I started working. When I stared working I never thought of going back to school. I worked and got my own money.  For me school wasn’t that exiting. For work, I worked up at five in the morning. I had to be at work at six in the morning and got out at two-thirty in the afternoon. I worked for eight hours and got paid $8.00 the hour. After, sometime working there I realized that wasn’t the life I wanted. I got home really tired. That got me thinking and I quit the job. Later I enrolled in college. The experience of working in the factory changed my attitude about my education. It took me one month to change my point of view on how I wanted to live my life in the future. The thought of working the rest of my life for minimum wage changed everything in my mind. I took the initiative an enrolled at Oxnard College to continue with my education. Being at Oxnard College has changed my life know I want to continue studying. And get a job that will pay me more than $8.00 the hour. I want a better education to later educate my children. By me going to college I set a good example for my younger sisters. I have showed them that they can go to. I have made my parents proud of me. They like the idea of me going to college. This decision has totally change life know I want to be somebody in life.
